EMP setzt ATI-Werkzeugwechsler f\u00fcr Produktwechselwerkzeuge ein<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Engineered Machined Products (EMP) mit Sitz in Escanaba, Michigan, ist ein f\u00fchrender Hersteller von bearbeiteten Komponenten und Energiesparsystemen. Wie die meisten Hersteller bekam auch EMP im Jahr 2009 die Auswirkungen der Rezession deutlich zu sp\u00fcren. Selbst nach der Einf\u00fchrung von Robotern und Automatisierung sah sich EMP einem Ansturm von Wettbewerbern aus Billiglohnl\u00e4ndern ausgesetzt. Brian Larche, der Eigent\u00fcmer von EMP, und sein Fertigungsteam in Escanaba waren in der Lage, die CNC- und Automatisierungsanlagen des Unternehmens an die neuen Kundenanforderungen anzupassen. Um diese neuen Kunden bedienen zu k\u00f6nnen, ben\u00f6tigte EMP ein Robotersystem mit f\u00fcnf verschiedenen End-of-Arm-Werkzeugen (EOA), um mit vielen verschiedenen Produkten und Ladeausrichtungen arbeiten zu k\u00f6nnen. Die Roboterarbeitszelle musste auf der CNC-Seite umr\u00fcstbar sein und einen vollautomatischen Werkzeugwechsel erm\u00f6glichen. Jedes EOA-Werkzeug wog ungef\u00e4hr 350 Pfund, was eine extrem genaue Platzierung des Teils erforderte, und musste 24 Stunden am Tag in einer schwierigen Umgebung arbeiten. Aufgrund fr\u00fcherer Erfolge mit Produkten von ATI Industrial Automation entschied sich EMP f\u00fcr den QC-110 Robotic Tool Changer von ATI f\u00fcr den automatisierten Wechselprozess. Die ATI Robotic Tool Changer haben sich als entscheidend f\u00fcr den Erfolg der Arbeitszelle erwiesen, da sie einen schnellen, automatischen und sicheren Austausch der Wechselwerkzeuge erm\u00f6glichen.
