Esse processo \u00e9 chamado de Montagem Estrutural Integrada de Compostos Avan\u00e7ados ou ISAAC. O sistema foi criado pela Electroimpact, uma empresa de automa\u00e7\u00e3o aeroespacial altamente experiente, com a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o da NASA Langley. O ISAAC consiste em uma vers\u00e3o modificada de um rob\u00f4 industrial padr\u00e3o da KUKA e um cabe\u00e7ote grande, girat\u00f3rio, semelhante a um disco, que \u00e9 carregado com at\u00e9 16 carret\u00e9is de fita de fibra de carbono. O ISAAC utiliza trocadores de ferramentas rob\u00f3ticos da ATI no cabe\u00e7ote do efetor final, o que permite que ele seja automaticamente desconectado e substitu\u00eddo por outros id\u00eanticos carregados com ferramentas diferentes. Os compostos convencionais usados na produ\u00e7\u00e3o atual consistem em muitas camadas de fibra orientadas a 0, 45 e 90 graus. O ISAAC pode coloc\u00e1-las ao longo de um caminho curvo, seguindo um padr\u00e3o especificamente projetado para aumentar a resist\u00eancia e o desempenho. Essa fun\u00e7\u00e3o espec\u00edfica permite que os fabricantes do setor aeroespacial criem corpos de aeronaves ou espa\u00e7onaves mais resistentes. As primeiras atribui\u00e7\u00f5es do ISAAC ser\u00e3o trabalhar para as Miss\u00f5es de Pesquisa Aeron\u00e1utica. O ISAAC tamb\u00e9m poder\u00e1 ser usado para produzir outros equipamentos com qualidade de voo e estruturas aeroelasticamente adaptadas para testes em t\u00faneis de vento. Essa tecnologia tem sido elogiada como &#8220;incr\u00edvel&#8221; pelos grupos que trabalham nela, pois agrega valor em quase todos os processos, tornando-a indispens\u00e1vel.
